Many of you that are friends with me on Facebook know that I have been heavily into meal prep for well over a year now. It all started when I was getting ready to participate in the Bodybuilding.com Transformation Challenge in 2015. I KNEW I had to be prepared! I also knew I had to eat food that tasted GOOD or I would not succeed. While I am a big supporter of eating whole foods and limiting foods that are full of sugars and fat, I also am a big supporter of eating food you enjoy. During my journey, I ate things like chicken fajitas, casseroles, pizza (homemade), meatballs, cheesecake, and the list goes on and on. I finally found ways to make my traditional favorite foods taste delicious! Now, I rarely ever go back to the “real” versions of these foods because I truly enjoy the healthier versions better.
I’ve been doing some pretty epic meal preps for a long time now and I’ve had tons of people reach out with questions, and I love that! Some of those people have also inquired about me doing their meal prep for them. Initially, I kind of brushed the idea off until I really thought about it and took it seriously. I can do this! It is something I would LOVE To help people with! So, meal prep has become my weekend hobby. Not just for me, but for my friends, family, and friends of friends. Today, I want to share some of the delicious and healthy meal options that I have been offering. Classic, delicious, savory meals that do not have to be packed with tons of calories, fat, and carbs. Almost all of my dishes have 30+ grams of protein (an essential macronutrient for those wanting to lose weight and gain/maintain muscle) and nearly every dish has less than 400 calories per serving.
Those that know me and/or have been following me for the past year or so also know that I’m heavily into working out, staying active, and more specifically, lifting weights. I prepare my meals with that type of lifestyle in mind. Are some of the dishes heavier in carbs? Sure! If we are building strength and lifting heavily in the gym, we need those carbs. Some of my dishes offer lower carb/high protein options as well for those that are looking to cut fat but still maintain that muscle you worked hard for in the gym. I have some people come to me that simply don’t want to get to a point where they have to lose weight and would like a healthy, convenient fast food option. And others come to me because they don’t want to grocery shop, cook, or clean up! I don’t blame them. 🙂 Fortunately, cooking and providing healthy meals is my passion so I love it!
